Ink it! Stamp it! Ghosting Technique

Welcome to the Ink it! Stamp it! Blog Hop. This month we will be sharing projects using some of our favourite Techniques. The full line up below will guide you through all the projects and we'd love to hear from you on what your favourite technique is?

Today I am showcasing the "Ghosting Technique", what's that you say? In a nut shell you create the illusion  of a  lighter shadow behind  a main colour focal point by stamping with white craft ink first and then with colour over the top, slightly offset. I LOVE the effect this technique creates!

I started by using Crumb Cake card stock and stamping my design with white craft ink - make sure your ink pad is nice and juicy so you get extra good coverage with your white ink stamping, here's what my card front looked like:

Wait for the ink to completely dry, it does take longer than the other inks, but don't rush it - I took the opportunity to stamp some extra cards, you can never have too many Christmas cards!

Photopolymer stamps are great for this technique, but you can easily do the process with wood and clear mount with the aid of the Stamp-a-ma-jig.  To create the shadow effect all you do is a stamp with colour slightly off set form the white stamping.

I also stamped my snowflakes and sentiment using the Snowflake Sentiments stamp set with a combinations of colours, Lemon Lime Twist with Emerald Envy, below features Flirty Flamingo, Sweet Sugarplum and Berry Burst.

And this is Pool Party with Marina Mist

Thank you so much for joining us today. I hope you enjoyed seeing the "Ghosting Technique". We hope that you'll join us again next month to see our Christmas projects. Be sure to hop around the entire list below:

Thank You with Stampin Friends

Welcome to the Stampin Friends October Blog Hop.  I hope your are ready to see lots of inspiring  Thanksgiving creations.

We don't celebrate Thanksgiving in Australia like in the US, but it is always nice to show how much we appreciate what someone has done for you, so I've made a "Thank You" set featuring the Detailed Dragonfly thinlets.

I "smooched" a watercolour background using Fresh Fig, Berry Burst and Powder Pink, then die cut 2 sets of dragonflies in Berry burst and one in Powder Pink and adhered together - this give a similar look to the "eclipse technique".

The Rose Wonder set had the perfect sized "thank you" for my card, I stamped on vellum and clear embossed it, then all that was left was to add a touch of bling with some sequins.

I double cut a larger butterfly in Fresh Fig and Powder Pink and added some Metallic Silver thread between them before adding to my Hexagonal Window Box - the ribbon is just tied around the lid

We have a give away again this month, don't forget to comment on my post and continue through the hop for a chance to win this great giveaway - you have til Next Thursday October 26th to participate:

Seasonal Chums | Black & White plus 1

Welcome to another Stampin' Dreams Blog Hop. This month's theme is "Black & White plus 1". You are currently visiting Sue Vine from Adelaide, Australia.

I normally love blues and greens for Christmas cards, but I decided to use Cherry Cobbler as my "plus 1" and are so happy with this simple design.

The Be Merry Designer Series paper was perfect for this theme, and I decided to incorporate the reindeer from Seasonal Chums as the feature, I also coloured the bow with Cherry Cobbler.

For something a little different I added some Vintage Crotchet Trim to edge the framelit, it looks fabulous with the Reindeer background, in fact the background then reminded me of hand knitted jumpers!

I hope the projects you've seen here on my blog today have inspired you & brightened your day. You are currently visiting Sue Vine - Miss Pinks Craftspot. Please see the list below & hop through all of the people on the list to see all our projects. You don't want to miss any!"

In Love with You're so Sweet | International Blog Highlights

Welcome to our International Blog Highlight for the month of October, the theme this month is "Change of Life Circumstances".  Things happen in life that can be pretty major, new baby, Wedding, Retiring, new job just to name a few. Everything changed for me when I proposed (yes you read right, I proposed to my now husband), first organising the wedding, then falling pregnant, then having a prem baby... what a roller coaster 15 month ride, but I wouldn't change a thing!

I decided to create a card for to celebrate a wedding or engagement, You're so Sweet has such a gorgeous heart, and I used this as my feature element.

I started creating a CAS themed card, white on white with the touch of Real Red for passion,.... but me being me, before I knew it I had added embellishments and bling and layered up the hearts.  It's still a simple card, but not quite CAS, hahaha. You're so Sweet coordinates with the Mini Treat Bag Thinlets, so easy to cut the hearts, and those little hearts too!

It's nice to let our friends and family know that we are thinking of them during changes in their life. Check out the other cards in  the gallery to get some creative inspiration so you can let your friends and family know that we are thinking of them during changes in their life. While you are there remember to vote for your favourite
